In 1978, I started in the construction business as an apprentice carpenter for Nordstrom Construction in Mora, MN. Although the hours were long and the work hard, the beauty of watching my labor come together to create new homes sparked a desire to continue in the industry for over 19 years.

During those years, I have filled a number of hats in all areas of construction. By 1983, I became the lead carpenter for Nordstrom. However, I decided to go into business for myself. At that time, I chose the path of remodeling and for several years I did everything from decks, to multiple room additions, to pole barns.

I wanted to get back into constructing new homes, so in 1989, I formed a framing company to start from the ground up. After a couple of years of framing and doing finish carpentry, I changed my framing company into a new home contracting company, "North Country Builders Inc." Since 1991, I have been building new homes in the seven county metro area.
